All of the stars of The Wizard of Oz (1939) lived long enough to see and enjoy at least some of the film’s legendary reputation.
The last of the major players to die was Ray Bolger, in 1987; he played the role of the Scarecrow. The day after his death, an editorial cartoon was printed representing the cultural impact of this film. The cartoon displays the Scarecrow running along the Yellow Brick Road to catch up with the Tin Man (Jack Haley), the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr), and, of course, Dorothy (the tragic Ms. Judy Garland) as they all danced off into the sunset.

The great thing about Paris is that, any time, you can bump into an 800 year old piece of wall.
